Labour Court rejects ESB worker’s claim for employee share scheme shares

The Labour Court did not find in favour of a worker’s claim for shares under ESB’s Employee Share Ownership Scheme. The recommendation was signed on 30 September 2008. The worker said ESB should have sent the participation documents to Syria while he was working there. ESB said participants had 15 weeks to return the form and that it had sent the document to the worker’s home address. The Court noted that he had not given ESB a forwarding address and concluded that the company had no further obligation to contact him. The worker did not sign the form in time and received no shares.
