The Labour Court recommended that Novostrat Limited recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for bargaining over pay and other employment conditions. The recommendation was signed on 25 August 2008. The union sought representation for about 60 workers. After interviewing 27 employees, the Court found that some wanted SIPTU representation and that a valid trade dispute existed. It also recommended that the company and union meet to agree a framework for their working relationship.
