The Labour Court did not recommend Unite’s claim for a defined benefit pension scheme for MABS staff as made. It recommended restarting and concluding discussions on improving the existing scheme through increased employer and employee contributions. At the time, MABS contributed 7% of basic pay to staff pensions and employees contributed 5%. The recommendation was signed on 7 July 2008.
