The Labour Court recommended that Unite Amicus / Technical Engineering & Electrical Union accept Jacobs Fruitfield’s final redundancy offer for craft workers affected by the planned closure of its Tallaght factory. The recommendation was signed on 17 June 2008. The union sought changes to redundancy caps, pension terms and payments for three newer employees. The Court considered the company’s common package equitable and reasonable, noting that it had been modified to address issues specific to the craft group.
