The Labour Court recommended new pay and conditions for staff employed by Transroute Tunnel Operations at the Dublin Port Tunnel, following a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. It recommended a €11.23 toll-collector rate, with premiums of 20% for evening shifts and 33.3% overnight, plus time-and-a-half overtime for the first four extra hours and double time thereafter. The Court also recommended paid breaks, Sunday premiums, a sick-pay scheme based on the company's proposal, and retrospection on overtime, breaks and Sunday premiums to 1 February 2008. The agreement was to run from 1 December 2006 to 31 January 2009. The recommendation was signed on 6 June 2008.
