The Labour Court did not uphold the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union’s claim that a worker at Louth County Childcare Committee had been placed incorrectly on a new salary scale. It found she had been correctly moved to point 6 of Grade IV. The recommendation was signed on 28 May 2008. The union argued that the worker should have been placed at point 7, or at point 8 under an alternative method. Louth County Childcare Committee said the change regularised salary scales rather than promoted her and that her pay had not been reduced. The Court noted that 27 of 32 committees had used the same method of assimilation.
