The Labour Court recommended that the South West Regional Fisheries Board extend its dual-base arrangement to 13 weeks during its move from Cork City to Farnanes. It also recommended that the other elements of the board’s offer be accepted. The recommendation was signed on 28 May 2008. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the move would add travel time and costs for staff. The board said the move was strategic and its offer included a three-week dual-base period. The Court said a longer period was reasonable in the circumstances of the case.
