The Labour Court recommended payments to staff in Dundrum and Limerick Junction and priority for 5/5 core workers under the 2000 Permanent Way Agreement. The dispute involved Iarnrod Eireann, the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the National Bus and Rail Union. The Court said the agreement established 452 core workers who should receive priority for specified duties. It recommended negotiations on any changes within three months, and treated the four disputed situations as once-off incidents arising mainly from differing interpretations of the agreement. The recommendation was signed on 31 January 2008.
