The Labour Court recommended terms on travel time, electronic recording and work allocation in a proposed agreement between Schlinder Lifts and the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union. It said management could decide when workers reported to sites, while recommending the travel-time clause be accepted in light of the company's assurance that it would continue exercising discretion to accommodate employees' circumstances. The Court recommended clarifying the flexible approach to handheld devices, accepting the new timesheets and the work-allocation clause. It also recommended that disputes first be negotiated and then referred to third-party adjudication if agreement could not be reached. The Labour Court dated the recommendation 3 December 2007.
