The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union agree to end annualised-hours working at Stripes Support Services Limited T/A Kammac Support Services in return for a further ex-gratia payment of eight weeks’ pay. The recommendation was signed on 22 October 2007. The dispute followed the transfer of 59 employees to the company at the Diageo plant. The union sought to retain the system, while the company said it needed to change it for competitive reasons. The Court also recommended that the final settlement address roster notification, task-to-finish, absence cover, annualised leave and overtime premia. The company had already paid four weeks’ pay under an interim arrangement.
