The Labour Court recommended further engagement to resolve a dispute over changes to Boxmore Plastics Limited’s bonus scheme. The recommendation was signed on 18 October 2007. The workers sought restoration of the 2005 scheme and consultation on future changes. They said the 2006 scheme could reduce their earnings by up to €54,000. Boxmore Plastics Limited said the bonus was discretionary and workers received 85% of the amounts in dispute. The Court said an earlier company undertaking meant bonus arrangements could not be altered unconditionally, and recommended further talks that respected those undertakings.
