The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for six Musgraves Cash & Carry workers to be paid for hours they missed after leaving work during a heating failure. The recommendation was signed on 11 October 2007. The union said the workers had warned management they would leave if the heating was not fixed. Musgraves Cash & Carry said it installed heaters and made soup available. The Court was not satisfied that the workers were justified in leaving and recommended that the company’s conciliation offer be accepted.
