The Labour Court recommended that Bathman Limited pay a worker €5,250 after finding his dismissal unfair. The recommendation was signed on 2 October 2007. Bathman said the worker gave unauthorised discounts, made errors that caused financial losses and misrepresented his experience. The worker said he had not been told his job was at risk. The Court found he had no fair opportunity to answer the company’s concerns and had not been clearly warned that his employment was in jeopardy. It considered three months a reasonable period to assess his suitability and recommended compensation equivalent to that period’s salary.
