The Labour Court recommended that Blackwater Engineering Company Ltd pay a worker €500 in full and final settlement for removing his Team Leader allowance without agreement. The recommendation was signed on 2 October 2007. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) brought the claim. Blackwater said the matter had been settled at conciliation, where the worker received €1,950. The Court found that payment covered delayed national pay increases and a change in the status of three workers, but not the separate removal of the allowance. It noted that three other team leaders had each received €350 after a similar change.
