The Labour Court recommended in favour of the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union’s claim for benchmarking increases for addiction counsellors at Tabor Lodge Ltd. The recommendation was signed on 2 October 2007. The union sought a 10% increase with retrospection, saying employment offers linked counsellors’ pay to comparable Health Service grades. Tabor Lodge argued it was a voluntary organisation outside the public service and lacked funding for the increases. The Court said the link in the employment offers should be honoured and maintained.
