The Labour Court recommended retrospective pay increases for workers at Castle T Furniture Ltd after finding the company had not supported its financial position with direct evidence. The recommendation was signed on 1 October 2007. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) sought the increases under Towards 2016, saying pay had not risen since July 2005 and was below comparable employers. The Court recommended increases of 3% from 1 January 2006, 2% from 1 July 2006, 2.5% from 1 March 2007 and 2.5% from 1 September 2007, to be implemented within one month.
