Labour Court refers Pobalscoil Rosmini caretaker allowance claim to conciliation

The Labour Court recommended referring the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union’s claim for a senior caretaker’s allowance at Pobalscoil Rosmini to the Labour Relations Commission for conciliation. The recommendation was signed on 20 September 2007. The worker, a junior caretaker, performed additional duties associated with the allowance. The school said it lacked Department of Education authorisation and that the applicable report limited the allowance to qualifying schools in the Dublin region. The Court said further discussions could advance resolution of the dispute.
