In 2007, the Labour Court recommended conceding Enterprise Ireland and Amicus workers’ claim for increments under an existing pay arrangement. The recommendation was signed on 27 July 2007. The two workers had been regraded to Senior Scientific Officer after the 31 May 1999 cut-off for a 6% increase. Enterprise Ireland argued the cut-off date should stand, while Amicus said the workers had been disadvantaged by the timing of their regrading. The Court found they were already in the grade before the cut-off, as confirmed by an organisation and methods study, and recommended conceding the claim on that basis. It said the recommendation did not change the cut-off or the criteria for entry to the solution grade.
