The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept HSE Mid Western Area's proposal for six emergency medical technicians in the Limerick Ambulance Service. The recommendation was signed on 9 July 2007. The union sought €3,724.20, saying a roster change had removed a compulsory overtime day. Management said earnings were equivalent under the two rosters and proposed four overtime days a year for the six staff. The Court said the Castlerea formula was limited to the Psychiatric Service and found the Board's proposal reasonable.
