The Labour Court recommended funding for eight additional public health nurses in the Co Donegal Public Health Nursing Service, as sought by the Irish Nurses Organisation from the Health Service Executive - West. The recommendation was signed on 2 July 2007. The union said the 2004 service plan called for eight more nurses and that population growth had increased workloads. The HSE said it had approval for two additional nurses and a registered general nurse, and could use locum staff to address workload pressures. The Court recommended putting funding in place to implement the plan's staffing aspects.
