The Labour Court recommended that Teagasc increase a worker’s personal-to-holder allowance to €12,000 a year from 1 July 2005, with index-linking thereafter. The recommendation was signed on 26 June 2007. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought restoration of a 91% pay differential and a retrospective allowance. The Court said the recommended arrangement was unique to the claimant and established no precedent for other or future cases.
