Labour Court recommends Benchmarking pay for Job Initiative team leaders

The Labour Court recommended that Job Initiative Team Leaders receive appropriate Benchmarking payments on terms similar to Community Employment Supervisors. The recommendation, dated 20 June 2007, also said the employers should seek funding in line with FÁS commitments. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought pay increases and retrospective payments for Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders. The three employers — Kimmage, Walkinstown, Crumlin & Drimnagh Area Partnership, Kilrush Amenity Trust Ltd and Donegal Local Development Company — said funding was insufficient; some had paid increases, but none could meet the retrospective amounts. The Court referred to FÁS documents linking the roles' pay scales and funding commitments.
