The Labour Court found no breach of the Code of Practice on Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures by Eircom Limited in a recommendation signed on 18 June 2007. The dispute concerned Eircom's handling of grievances and bullying allegations raised by a worker employed by the company for 30 years. During restructuring in 2005, he refused an additional team member and was told suspension was being considered. He later returned to his former Customer Team Leader role, then asked to be reinstated as Customer Team Manager; Eircom refused. The worker alleged bias and a lack of fair procedures. Eircom denied breaching the Code and said it had made reasonable efforts to address his concerns. The Court urged both sides to bring all their issues, including those in other forums, to an agreed independent mediator, or ask the Court to nominate one.
