The Labour Court recommended that NCR Limited pay two employees four weeks’ pay per year of service, plus statutory redundancy entitlements, after Amicus challenged their compulsory redundancies. The recommendation was signed on 11 June 2007. NCR had offered statutory redundancy entitlements plus two weeks’ pay per year of service. Amicus challenged the compulsory redundancies, sought alternative roles on existing terms and asked for an enhanced package. NCR said financial losses limited its offer. The Court also recommended that the parties agree a protocol for consultation and the format of future redundancies. It recommended immediate payment to Employee I. For Employee II, payment was to be held for a further month while she considered her options, with her extended notice due to expire on 6 July 2007.
