Labour Court recommends BancTec pay increases sought by Amicus

The Labour Court recommended that Banctec Limited pay Amicus members increases of 2% for members C and D from 1 July 2004, 1.7% for all members from 1 July 2005, 2.5% from 1 July 2006 and 4% from 1 July 2007. The recommendation was signed on 7 June 2007. Amicus said payments from 2004 to 2006 fell short of national wage agreements and sought the full increases. The company said its annual salary increase was limited to 1.5% and that workers’ pay compared favourably with similar roles. The Court found the increases had not kept pace with inflation and that the company had not complied with an earlier Labour Court recommendation.
