Labour Court recommends enhanced redundancy terms for two workers

The Labour Court recommended that Le Cheile Family Resource Centre Limited concede the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union’s claim for enhanced redundancy terms for two Traveller Health Development Workers. The recommendation was signed on 31 May 2007. The workers became redundant after project funding ended. The Centre had paid statutory redundancy from its own resources, and said the HSE had refused further funding. The Court considered the requested package reasonable and in line with similar settlements, and urged the funding authority to make the necessary resources available.
