In 2007, the Labour Court recommended that Kardex Systems Ireland Limited fund the pension obligations it owed to two workers represented by Amicus. The recommendation was signed on 21 May 2007. Amicus said the workers had received written guarantees that their defined-benefit pension scheme would remain in place. The company said it could not afford to fund the scheme, though it had offered €50,000 towards the deficit before withdrawing the offer. The Court recommended that Kardex transfer enough money to meet its obligations to the workers and keep their pension entitlements unchanged under the plan. It also recommended that the company give them written guarantees by 1 June 2007.
