The Labour Court recommended that Omega Teknika Limited should not concede Amicus's claim for an educational and retraining supplement in voluntary redundancy terms. It accepted that the 2002 supplement had been granted in special circumstances involving three workers, which did not apply to the current redundancies. The company was seeking 29 voluntary redundancies after ending production of its Predictor product. Amicus relied on a 2002 package that included a supplement of approximately €9,000 to €11,000, depending on age. The company said that supplement had applied only to three workers in different circumstances. It said its current redundancy offer ranged from €10,000 to €190,000, depending on length of service. The recommendation was published in May 2007.
