The Labour Court recommended that a worker at Macfarlane Labels Ltd receive one week of annual leave after a disciplinary suspension coincided with a prearranged holiday. The Court said a week’s disciplinary suspension could not run concurrently with a week’s annual leave. The union had referred the claim to the Labour Court after the company refused to attend the Rights Commissioner Service. The recommendation was signed on 29 March 2007.
