The Labour Court recommended that Uponor Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union negotiate over changes to benefits and employment conditions affecting 11 sales and administrative staff at the company’s Cork plant. The recommendation was dated 16 March 2007. The Court recommended immediate talks, to be completed within a month, and reinstatement of the meal allowance with full retrospection while discussions continued. It also recommended that the union accept the company’s proposal to replace home landlines with mobile phones. If the parties could not reach a final agreement, they could refer the case back to the Court.
