The Labour Court recommended that a review of the Clinical Measurement profession begin in January 2008, covering career structure, titles, standards, and training and development. The recommendation was signed on 22 February 2007. The Health Service Executive accepted that a review was needed but proposed waiting five years after the first graduates emerged in 2005. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union argued for an urgent review. The Court recommended that the parties agree on an independent reviewer, with expert support if needed; if they could not agree, the Court would nominate one.
