The Labour Court recommended that a National College of Art & Design assistant librarian be placed at the maximum point of Dublin City University’s Assistant Librarian 1 A scale, effective from 1 April 2003. The recommendation was signed on 8 February 2007. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought an upgrade, arguing that the worker’s responsibilities exceeded those normally associated with her post. The college had offered a salary linkage to Mary Immaculate College, which it considered fair and reasonable. The Court said it was impressed by the worker’s contribution to the library and that her case should have been resolved earlier.
