The Labour Court recommended reinstating, implementing and accepting a goodwill payment offered at conciliation to resolve a pay parity claim by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union on behalf of two Tosach community development support workers. The recommendation was signed on 16 January 2007. The union said the two workers should have been placed at the same point on the salary scale as a third worker. Tosach said placements reflected experience, qualifications and service. The Court considered the criteria fair and reasonable, but found the lack of prior consultation had caused misunderstanding and a perception of unfairness.
