Labour Court recommends €300 for worker after flawed lay-off procedures

The Labour Court recommended that Cullen Cleaning Limited pay a worker €300 in full and final settlement of her workplace grievance and claim about the end of her employment. The recommendation was dated 27 October 2006. The worker had been employed on a relief basis to cover for an absent employee. The Court found that her employment ended because she was no longer required. It also said there had been no formal procedures for her recruitment and terms of employment, and that the procedures used to lay her off were seriously flawed.
