Labour Court recommends talks on Four Workers’ alleged unpaid entitlements

The Labour Court recommended that KPMG / Moorview Developments meet the Building and Allied Trades Union to clarify whether four former construction craftsmen were owed back pay, notice pay or annual leave. The recommendation was dated 26 October 2006. The Union said an on-site agreement promised the workers those payments when the project ended. The Company said it had paid all sums due. It declined to attend the hearing; its receiver told the Court the Company was insolvent and had no funds to defend the claim. The Court recommended that the parties establish whether any money was due under the alleged agreement and pay any amount identified.
