The Labour Court recommended that HSE grant two extra days’ annual leave, on a once-off basis, to catering staff who fully cooperate with the move to centralised facilities at the new community hospital. The recommendation was dated 16 October 2006. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought relocation compensation for chefs and catering assistants moving from St John’s and St Senan’s hospitals. Management rejected a cash payment claim and offered the extra leave. The Court said the cases cited by the union were not comparable and recommended that the offer apply to claimants who fully cooperate with the move.
