The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Kerry Foods Limited deal with a meal allowance claim for nine van sales representatives at the company’s Waterford depot through national discussions. It urged the parties to complete the process within eight weeks. The recommendation was dated 16 October 2006. The union said the allowance had not increased in more than 10 years and considered the company’s proposed increases insufficient. Kerry Foods said the matter was already under discussion nationally. The Court recommended that the depot claim be handled as part of those talks.
