Labour Court rejects union claim over Rexam pension scheme PRSI savings

The Labour Court did not find in favour of the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union in its dispute with Rexam Ltd over PRSI savings from employee additional voluntary contributions to the pension scheme. The recommendation was dated 3 October 2006. The union wanted the savings reinvested to help the scheme return to solvency sooner. The Court said the existing agreement on addressing the deficit had been honoured by both sides and should run its course, for up to three and a half years.
