Labour Court recommends 16 nursing posts at Cregg House

Place: no local area assigned from the source.

The Labour Court recommended that the Sisters Of La Sagesse Services and the Irish Nurses Organisation establish a joint working group to arrange for at least 16 nursing posts to be filled at Cregg House, Sligo, within two years. The union said the additional posts were needed to meet the service’s needs and sustain care. Management agreed more nurses were required but said it had been unable to secure Health Service Executive funding. The Court said at least 16 posts were needed to maintain an acceptable quality of patient care, while recognising that the service could not reasonably be expected to fund them from its own resources. The recommendation was signed on 3 October 2006.
