The Labour Court recommended that Atlas Aluminium Limited pay a 16.66% differential to craft supervisors from 6 December 2004, in a dispute with the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union. The company had offered a 10% differential, while the union sought 20%. The parties also disagreed about whether the claim covered one permanent supervisor or three workers, including two who acted up in the role. The company said it had sustained losses of €1 million in 2006 and that a higher differential could harm its viability. The recommendation was signed on 3 October 2006.
