The Labour Court recommended a package of changes to a proposed productivity agreement for Bus Eireann engineering operatives, following a dispute with Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and National Bus and Rail Union. The recommendations were conditional on acceptance of the complete package in full and final settlement. The Court endorsed a revised six-point pay scale and recommended a €3,809.21 lead-in payment, paid meal breaks for shift workers and payment of an agreed cooking allowance. It also recommended acceptance of the company’s improved voluntary redundancy offer for Broadstone central stores, without the enhanced terms sought by the unions. Other recommendations covered work arrangements in Broadstone, Tralee and Limerick, team-leader roles, Stores Controller vacancies and the loss-of-earnings formula. The recommendation was signed on 29 September 2006.
