The Labour Court recommended that the dispute over how to calculate annual leave for part-time home helps employed by the HSE Western Area be considered by a High Level Group. The recommendation in the dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) was signed on 25 September 2006. SIPTU sought leave calculated pro rata to full-time employees, which it said equated to 9.2% of hours worked. The HSE calculated the entitlement at 8.8%. If the group could not resolve the issue, the claim could return to the Labour Court for a definitive recommendation.
