The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Blood Transfusion Service allow donor attendants at its D’Olier Street Clinic to leave under a 2002 voluntary redundancy agreement once revised rosters and an implementation date had been agreed. The recommendation was signed on 28 August 2006. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (Agemo) said the agreement entitled the remaining applicants to the package and that departures should not depend on new work practices. The Service said it could not consider redundancies until restructuring and new rosters were in place. The Court found the 2002 agreement covered the applicants, while a 2005 conciliation agreement linked the timing of departures to the roster review.
