The Labour Court recommended that the Health Services Executive (HSE) - (South East) not concede a union claim for additional staff and relocation compensation at St. John's Hospital, Enniscorthy. The recommendation was dated 9 August 2006. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought extra staffing and a relocation payment as services moved to a new hospital building on the same grounds. The HSE said it had increased support staffing, reduced patient numbers and provided new facilities. It opposed relocation compensation because the move added no travel to and from work. The Court said ward staffing was a matter for clinical management. It saw no merit or precedent for the relocation claim and did not recommend that it be conceded.
