Labour Court rejects St Vincent’s worker’s claim for parking credit carry-over

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court rejected a worker’s claim that St Vincent’s Private Hospital should allow staff to carry unused car-parking credit from one year to the next. The recommendation was signed on 3 August 2006. The Irish Nurses Organisation said staff had previously been allowed to carry credit forward and argued workers risked paying twice for parking. The hospital said its annual policy did not allow transfers and staff had been briefed on it. The Court found the policy provided for annual parking passes but no transfer of unused credit. It found no evidence of a breach or an established carry-over practice, and did not recommend the worker’s claim.
