Labour Court recommends full payment of Pathology Technicians’ €4,000 award

The Labour Court recommended that Health Service Employers fully implement an independent arbitrator’s €4,000 award to Pathology Technicians within one month. The recommendation was dated 24 July 2006. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said only three hospitals had paid the award for additional duties and responsibilities. The HSE-Employers Agency said individual employing agencies were responsible for implementation and that most had paid. The Court called the incomplete implementation extraordinary and unjustified, and recommended that the existing award be paid in full.
