The Labour Court recommended hourly rates of €8.24 to €8.77 for unqualified childcare workers and €9.15 to €9.45 for qualified workers at Little Rascal Creche. The recommendation was dated 24 July 2006 and was to be implemented within one month. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union referred the pay dispute after the employer said no trade dispute existed and staff had accepted its offer. The Court found that at least one worker remained in dispute, that regular staff meetings did not amount to collective bargaining and that it had jurisdiction to investigate the dispute.
