The Labour Court recommended that Local Government Management Services Board and Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union begin in-depth discussions on restructuring Revenue Collectors' roles. The recommendation was dated 17 July 2006, with discussions due to finish by the end of October. The union had sought Grade V regrading, retention of a 22.5% travel allowance and continued out-of-office work. The Court said not all existing benefits could be maintained in return for regrading and that the role and some benefits would change significantly.
