The Labour Court recommended that American Airlines pay three workers retrospective specialist-pay payments from 1 December 2003. The recommendation was dated 18 July 2006. The workers had accepted an ongoing specialist skills premium of €234 a month, including one month's back pay, but appealed the length of the retrospective period. The project involved web-support duties outside the workers' normal roles while American Airlines' Dublin call centre established seven European websites. The union was Communication Workers' Union. The Court considered 1 December 2003 a cogent date for the claim and recommended payment to each of the three workers from then.
