Labour Court recommends regrading trainee assistant house parents at Galway Association

The Labour Court recommended that trainee assistant house parents at Galway Association be designated Social Care Workers on a red-circled basis, with the higher salary effective from 1 January 2006. The recommendation was dated 3 July 2006. The Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union sought regrading under a restructuring agreement. The Court accepted that the trainees performed the full range of Social Care Worker duties and said they should receive the appropriate rate. It limited retrospection to 1 January 2006.
